Longmore House

Event Description

Dr Alex Hale, Archaeology Project Manager, Dr Rebecca Jones Head of Archaeology and World Heritage, and Dr Kirsty Owen, Senior Archaeology Manager, present This Age.

'Towards an Archaeology of This Age'

If you think archaeology today is just about digging up old bones and buildings, then you need to come to this lecture. Dr Alex Hale will coax you into the archaeological present, with examples that break the mould with the past. He considers how archaeology has changed from something that only looks at the past, to a subject that considers the present day through an archaeological lens.

Scotland's Archaeology Strategy: The Past in the Future

You've heard about the past, but what is the future of archaeological investigation in Scotland? To end our journey through Scotland's past we will take a look at Scotland's Archaeology Strategy and how the leading bodies in Scotland are working together to provide more opportunities to discover, care for, promote and enjoy our rich and diverse heritage
