Technical Education and Training

About the team

The Technical Education and Training team provides leadership in the sector by championing knowledge about traditional skills and local materials as being key to sustaining Scotland’s heritage.

We manage the learning offer at the Engine Shed and Historic Environment Scotland’s Skills Training Centres in Elgin and Stirling. Through our training, qualifications and publications, we share knowledge with audiences that range from homeowners and students, to established conservation and construction professionals.

We enable better stewardship by sharing our knowledge, skills and expertise through training, education, outreach and engagement. Our research and project work sets standards across the industry and advocates for the skills needs across Scotland.
